“Let’s flip the paradigm and begin with the imagined future state and work backward to the present. This is how we get to moonshot thinking.”
Naveen Jain
LIKE everyone else, I’ve always been aware of the power of holograms, at least since Princess Leia fizzled into being back at the outset of STAR WARS in the mid-Seventies. By then, the first genuine human hologram was already a decade old. And, like many others, I was truly inspired by the Tupac apparition at Coachella in 2012, even if by purist standards we were looking at an updated Pepper’s Ghost instead of hologram. What got me was not just the technology, but the potential for human interaction – always missing in VR. Augmented Realism is the socialized version of virtuality, where you get not just to interact with the technology but – much more importantly – with your real-world friends too. Space separates but it also binds together. We have our personal spaces, called homes.
“The spatial realm, if you like, is the first draft of reality itself.”
