“AR is designed to add, enhance the things you do as a human being: Being outside, socializing with other people, shopping, playing, having fun. AR can make all those things better.”
John Hanke
WE are the last organic humans. No matter how the human being augments their capabilities in the near future, this generation will have been the very last to live as homo sapiens. No doubt augmentation will start as medical rescue and recovery to justify its moral ambiguity and will end as aesthetic whim and regular upgrade. The bionic bodies will be looked down upon until such time as career and life advantages start to accrue, which is when the floodgates open. But this exploration is not about your digital insides, it’s about your spatial optionality which presents far bigger opportunity. For a start, biological augmentation is still limited to one spot. Extending your presence beyond your physicality is a whole different ballgame, enabling you to become truly ubiquitous.
“You don’t need to be Roy Orbison or Whitney Houston to discover the benefits of a holographic afterlife.”
